Our Journey
A&R LLP was founded in 2010 with a simple vision — to build a trusted accounting practice rooted in community and long-term relationships.
What began as Alam & Rasul CMAs in a small Retail office on Plains Road in Burlington quickly grew into a thriving Public Accounting practice. In those early years, we invested not just in our clients, but in our own foundation — combining entrepreneurial discipline with hands-on service.
In 2014, following the unification of Canada’s accounting designations, we transitioned to A&R LLP, Chartered Professional Accountants, and expanded into a commercial office space on Harvester Road. This marked an important step in our evolution — strengthening our team and broadening our services for businesses across Halton and Hamilton.
As our vision grew, so did our footprint. In 2019, we strategically established our permanent home in Waterdown, one of the region’s fastest-growing communities. By investing in purpose-built live/work offices, we created a stable foundation for long-term growth — both for our firm and for the families and businesses we serve.

Hassan Rasul, CPA, CMA, M.A. (Econ)
Partner
Hassan Rasul is a Partner at A&R LLP with over 25 years of experience advising business owners, real estate investors, high-net-worth individuals, and estate trustees. His background spans senior industry roles and public accounting, giving him a practical, business-first approach to tax and advisory work.
Known for his collaborative style, Hassan takes the time to understand each client’s business, challenges, and long-term goals. He serves as a trusted advisor — not just a compliance provider — and many of his client relationships span decades and, in several cases, multiple generations.

Hassan provides specialized tax and advisory services for privately held businesses and real estate investors, including:
- Estate and Trust Taxation, including terminal returns and strategic estate planning
- Real Estate Tax & Advisory, including capital gains analysis and GST/HST considerations
- Corporate Tax Planning & Reorganizations, including holding company structures and Lifetime Capital Gains Exemption planning

Professional Background
Hassan earned his professional accounting designation in 2006 (then CMA Canada, now CPA Canada). He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master’s degree in Economics.
Before co-founding A&R LLP, he held senior accounting and finance roles with organizations including Canada Bread (Olivieri Pasta) and Maple Leaf Foods, followed by experience in public accounting in Mississauga, where he gained exposure to audit, tax planning, and CRA compliance matters.
Entrepreneurial & Real Estate Experience
In addition to his accounting practice, Hassan is a licensed real estate broker and active investor. Alongside his business partner, he has participated in custom residential development projects, providing firsthand insight into the financial and tax realities faced by real estate entrepreneurs.
Mentorship & Community Involvement
Hassan has mentored several CPA candidates and is committed to professional development within the accounting community. He also served 12 years on the board of a Burlington-based not-for-profit organization, including time as Treasurer, and continues to support local charitable initiatives.
Outside the Office
Outside of work, Hassan enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, and staying active through table tennis and badminton.
Mohammad Ayoub Alam, CPA, CMA, CICA (In Depth)
Partner
Ayoub Alam Mohammad is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Partner at A&R LLP, known for combining deep technical expertise with practical strategic insight. He advises entrepreneurs, investors, and families on complex tax, financial, and business matters, helping them make confident decisions that support long-term growth and stability.
Ayoub is a member in good standing with both CPA Ontario and CPA Alberta, reflecting his multi-jurisdictional professional standing and commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards. He is also a graduate of CPA Canada’s prestigious In-Depth Tax Program — one of the country’s most advanced tax specialization programs — providing him with sophisticated expertise in corporate reorganizations, owner-manager tax planning, succession strategies, and advanced advisory solutions.
He has served as a National Marker for CPA Canada, contributing to the profession by evaluating candidates at the national level and helping uphold the rigor of Canada’s CPA designation.

Ayoub currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for Friends of Namal, a Canadian registered charity that supports high-achieving students from underprivileged backgrounds in pursuing advanced education.
Outside the Office
Outside of work, Ayoub is an avid reader, fitness enthusiast, and passionate hiker who enjoys exploring Ontario’s Bruce Trail. He also values time with his family and is a proud dog owner.
Daisy Zou
Senior Staff Accountant
Daisy Zou is a Senior Staff Accountant at A&R LLP, where she plays a key role in supporting clients with bookkeeping, financial reporting, and system modernization. She is passionate about helping clients simplify their accounting processes and transition smoothly into today’s digital environment.
Since joining A&R LLP in 2017, Daisy has brought strong technical knowledge and attention to detail to every engagement. She holds a Diploma in Accounting and an MBA, and remains committed to continuous professional development in accounting and taxation.
Daisy is valued for her reliability, efficiency, and client-focused approach, ensuring that each file is handled with care and accuracy.
Outside of work, Daisy enjoys spending time with her family. She is an enthusiastic home cook and baker, and in the winter months, she enjoys skiing with friends.
M. Nasar
Staff Accountant
M. Nasar supports A&R LLP’s larger clients by providing on-site accounting and bookkeeping services in the Burlington area since 2015. He works closely with client teams to manage day-to-day accounting functions and assist with staff training in Sage Accounting, ensuring accurate records and smooth internal processes.
With over 20 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and CRA compliance, Nasar brings practical, hands-on expertise to client engagements. He holds a Master of Commerce (M. Comm.) degree and is known for his reliability, professionalism, and helpful approach when working directly with client teams.
Clients value Nasar’s ability to step in efficiently, understand their systems quickly, and provide consistent, high-quality support on an ongoing basis.
